360 degrees panoramic photograph+CG installation

How would it be like
if the water fills this valley?

Itsuki-village, known as the hometown of "Ballad of Itsuki", is planned to become a dam site. The village will sunk underwater because of the construction of water generated electricity plant. To illustrate the change of this village in the big scale, I made a panoramic photo installation. Two cilinder is made; one is "before", and the other one is "after". The photograph of "after" is coverd with the image of water which is generated by the computer graphic.

The main focus of this work is to question the non-discussed issue, which I think it is quite a big issue. I wanted people to take a look as it is, get to know the issue as pure as possible, without any propaganda. That is why I made a installation as an environment. Besides the installation, I have not indicated any of its historical background nor emotional political action, nor ecological affects of the project etc. All the information indicated was the title of the work and my name. There I put one blank notebook so that the audience could write in freely about how they felt. Thus the comments written on the notebook plays an important role of this installation.

Seen from the notebook, my intention seems communicated enough with the audience - they left a comment with a pure, personal confusion.

KawabeRiver

KawabeLake(in the future)

This cannot be like this.
The water of the real dam must be more dirty.
But we imagine such a beautiful landscape.
Somehow we interprit some kind of "beauty" for whatever human makes.
I want to see such a landscape
but
I thought this should never be real.
